Disneyland Paris: how to plan your first visit

Start with parks, dates, tickets and accommodation. A guide to organising the decisions for your first Disneyland Paris trip.

The first decision when visiting Disneyland Paris is what you want to experience. Before comparing hotels or buying tickets, make a short list of the things your group is most excited about. It will help you decide what needs booking and what can remain flexible.

Locate the two parks

Disneyland Park is the park with the castle and five themed lands. Disney Adventure World is the second park, formerly called Walt Disney Studios, with the worlds of Frozen, Marvel and Pixar. Identify which park contains each priority so you can choose a ticket that covers your plan.

There is no single trip length that suits every family. One day means making choices; more time lets you spread commitments out but also increases the cost. Work out your actual available hours, allowing for arrival, departure and transfers, before counting full park days.

Compare the cost of the whole trip

Alongside each accommodation option, add transport, tickets and the extras you would actually use. Check each product’s conditions: an undated ticket requires registering your visit through the official process, subject to availability. Do not assume all rates allow the same changes.

Book what shapes the day

If a particular meal matters, check availability before fixing your whole route. Then consult the programme and use the official app to locate experiences and monitor waits. Your plan should let you change the order without undoing the entire day.

Set out with three clear priorities

As a practical approach, choose three important experiences and several alternatives. This is not a prediction of how much you will do, but a way to identify what matters most. Add breaks and a latest departure time that works with your transport. The best first plan is one you can adjust without debating every decision from scratch.
